Hospice of the East Bay invites the public to participate in its 23rd annual Tree of Lights ceremonies to be held in 15 locations throughout Contra Costa in November and December. Each light on every tree is symbolic of a life and will shine in honor or memory of a beloved friend or family member. Please join any of the commemorative ceremonies to enjoy music, poetry, talks by local dignitaries and the special moment when the tree lights up.

A suggested donation of $20 per light can be made by sending a tax-deductible check to Hospice Foundation of the East Bay, at 3470 Buskirk Avenue, Pleasant Hill, CA 94523. Credit card donations may be made by calling Hospice of the East Bay at (925) 887-5678. Please note which tree you choose to buy a light for, and the name of the person being remembered or honored. Local citizens are organizing a Brentwood Tea Party, for July 4, at noon, at the steps of City Hall in Brentwood, CA.

The July 4 event is affiliated with ReTeaParty.com that is sponsoring July 4 non-partisan events across the country.

Another allied organization, TeaPartyDay.com is claiming 1,306 AFA events nationwide. Contact either site to join in the fun, or email the folks in Brentwood.

Hospice of the East Bay will offer a variety of support groups and workshops for adults, children and teens experiencing grief after the death of a loved one. Classes are offered at Hospice’s administrative offices: 3470 Buskirk Avenue, Pleasant Hill, and at 350 John Muir Parkway, Brentwood.
