Boisterous audience slams One Bay Area Plan

A wildly incensed audience on Monday night (April 22) vigorously protested plans to have regional bureaucracies determine land use and transportation plans for Bay Area cities. Over 300 people appeared at the Marriott Hotel in Walnut Creek to make statements about plans to force local governments to establish high-rise, high-density housing in Bay Area cities. California Assembly hearing on Ranked Choice Voting, Aug 23

Steve Chessin, of Californians for Election Reform (CfER), reports that the California Assembly Elections and Redistricting Committee has scheduled an oversight hearing on the Implementation of Ranked Choice Voting in California for Tuesday, August 23, 2011, beginning at 1:30 p.m., in Room 444 of the State Capitol. Chessin, and others, will testify on behalf of CfER. There will be three panels: one with the election officials from San Franciso (John Arntz) and Alameda County (Dave McDonald), a second with someone from the Secretary of State’s office, and a third with “proponents and critics”; which is the panel on which Steve will participate.
