What’s wrong with the Republican Party? The thought occurred to me a couple years ago while attending a Candidates Forum at the Crow Canyon Country Club in Danville. Tehama GOP rescinds invite to CRP chair Tom Del Beccaro

The Tehama County GOP announced it has disinvited California Republican Party Chairperson Tom Del Beccarro from speaking at its May Lincoln-reagan Dinner. Apparently the Tehama GOP does not appreciate the CRP Chair’s hamfisted disregard for party bylaws and the state party’s controversial endorsement process that picks favorites before the California Primary. Not like we’ve never heard these complaints before. And brushing off bylaws concerning endorsements is just the tip of the iceberg. Contra Costa a lead county for GOP redistricting sour grapes

california redistricting, tom del beccaro, contra costa county, signature gathering, GOP convention, super majorityBecky Kohlberg, chairperson of the Contra Costa County Republican Party, is urging party faithful to join a petition drive to strike down the new district lines created by California’s Redistricting Commission. If successful, the outcome could be that the Courts redraw the lines. Republicans, after clamoring for a Redistricting Commission, now are aghast that the outcome is likely to create an insurmountable super majority in both legislative houses for California’s hyper Progressive Democrat Party. According to Kohlberg, “Contra Costa County has been selected as a Lead County for Signature Gathering;” mostly likely due to the lingering influence of Tom Del Beccaro, chairperson of what’s left of the California Republican Party. Where’s Tom? California GOP debate party endorsement rules after Prop 14

The 2011 California Republican Party Convention takes place this weekend in Sacramento. The most interesting debate will be how should the party best respond to the passage of Proposition 14. At odds are Republicans serving in the State Legislature who know how to win elections, versus party poohbahs who have overseen the demise of the GOP in California, who want a small group of activists and paid campaign consultants to gain a stranglehold on candidate endorsements.
